Tattoo Process

Tattoos have long been associated with bikers, traveling sideshows, and sailors. A new kind of diversity has permeated this culture however, and now tattoos can be found on every kind of person, in every culture, every career, and almost every home. Even those who would prefer not to have a picture type tattoo will often get cosmetic tattooing done to accent eyebrows, or line lips or eyes.

The tattoo process involves the use of a sterile needle that injects ink into the upper layer of the dermis, beneath the epidermis of the skin - or approximately 1 millimeter below the surface. The needle is typically powered electronically and punctures the skin between 50 and 3,000 times per minute. This is one of the many reasons that a sterile environment is required for tattooing.
The ink is injected into the dermis because that layer is more stable than the epidermis and will ensure that your tattoo will stay there, with minor fading only, for the rest of your life.

That is, unless you decide you'd like it removed. Ask us about tattooing and our virtually painless laser tattoo removal!
